North South University is approved to operate as an institution of higher education by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh. The UGC is the regulatory body of the Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Our quest for demonstrated quality and sustained, superior performance at NSU includes international accreditation for most of our specialized schools and selected programs. Several specialized programs are at different stages of progress toward successful accreditation.
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS (SBE)
The School of Business and Economics is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), making it the first American-accredited school in the country. ACBSP is the leading accreditation agency for teaching-focused business schools. SBE has also obtained the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) membership – the first business school in Bangladesh to do so.
SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES (SEPS)
All the undergraduate engineering degree programs (Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering- BSCSE, Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering-BSEEE, Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering-BSETE, and Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering-BSCEE offered by the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences are accredited by the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE) under the jurisdiction of the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB). The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree is accredited by the Accreditation Standard of the Institute of Architects, Bangladesh (ASIAB).

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences under the School of Health and Life Sciences is accredited by the Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh. Other school departments are exploring obtaining accreditation from different leading accreditation bodies.
SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES (SHSS)
The Master of Public Policy and Governance (MPPG) program under the South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance (SIPG) in the SHSS is the only South Asian member of The Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA) and working on the accreditation process. SIPG is also exploring European accreditation for its Master in Public Policy and Governance (MPPG) and Executive Masters in Policy and Governance (EMPG) programs.
