Faculty Orientation and Development Workshop Spring 2022
A two day–long Faculty Orientation and Development Workshop for Spring 2022 was organized by Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at North South University (NSU) on 3rd and 5th March, 2022. Due to the current pandemic situation, the orientation program was conducted online via Zoom. The orientation program was well attended by new faculty members from sixteen departments.
The Orientation workshop began with a welcome address by IQAC Director, Prof. Dr. Nazmun Nahar. Prof. Dr. M. Ismail Hossain, Pro Vice Chancellor of NSU, welcome the new faculty members and discussed the concepts of ethics in teaching. He also appreciated the effort made by the IQAC team for organizing this type of orientation workshop at NSU. The respected Deans from School of Business and Economics, School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, School of Humanities and Social Sciences and School of Health and Life Sciences were present at the workshop, talked about their respective schools and discussed the importance of faculty training program.
In the span of two days, there were different sessions focusing on administrative rules and regulations at NSU, teaching and research philosophy, effective teaching and assessment methodology, Outcome Based Education (OBE) and curriculum development, and so on. There was a special segment on the usage of library resources and medical and psychological services available at NSU. The program ended with Vote of Thanks from the director and coordinators of IQAC. The participants also thanked NSU authority and IQAC for organizing the orientation program.
